New Associate Editors Join the BJPS Team
As well as the appointment of Tim Lewens as soon-to-be Co-Editor-in-Chief, we have three new Tributes Associate Editors to add to the team.
Greg Lusk’s (Durham University) work sits in the intersection between philosophy of climate science, the philosophy of data and computer simulations, and values in science. His current project is an examination of scientific information in political life. He hopes to make new connections between political theory and philosophy of science, addressing problems that arise when non-epistemic values are deployed in science, in order to promote more responsible science-based social policy. He will be joining the journal in early 2025.
Caterina Marchionni (University of Helsinki) works on philosophy of economics and the philosophy of the social and human sciences. She is currently collaborating on three parallel projects, ‘Making Data Speak: Towards a Philosophy of Data-Driven Social Science’, ‘Economics as Serviceable Social Knowledge (ESSK): Philosophical Investigations on the Policy Relevance of Economics in Post-pandemic Society’, and ‘Boosts vs. Nudges: A Mechanism-Based Framework for Assessing the Effectiveness and Normative Acceptability of Behavioral Interventions for Sustainable Energy Consumption’.
Dana Tulodziecki (Purdue University) focuses on scientific progress and the non-empirical factors that play a role in our scientific theories and hypotheses, often drawing on in-depth case studies from the history of science. Her recent research has taken her into the philosophy of space science, and includes work in both space ethics and space policy.
Dana Tulodziecki ably fills the gap in our knowledge left by Peter Vickers standing down, including her interest in all-things space science. Greg Lusk and Caterina Marchionni will, in part, fill the gap left when Wendy Parker takes her well-earned break from the BJPS. The appointment of two Associate Editors to cover Wendy’s beat should indicate the Trojan work Wendy has been doing on top of her Co-Editor-in-Chief duties, but also reflects the growing number of papers we receive in their area of expertise. We are very grateful to Caterina, Dana, and (as of 2025) Greg for their willing sacrifice!
