An active membership of the BSPS is required in order to participate in the conference

The conference will be held at the University of Leeds, with all activities hosted in the Maurice Keyworth Building.
In addition to selected individual talks and symposia, the Presidential Address will be delivered by Robin Hendry (Durham), and plenary talks will be given by Tarja Knuuttila (Vienna) and Eleanor Knox (KCL).

Submission for abstracts and symposia has now closed for BSPS 2026. The deadlines were 11 February 2026 and 14 January 2026 respectively.

Full registration, non-salaried*: £140
*Non-salaried = unemployed, on a 50%-or-less fractional contract, retired, or student.

Accommodation:
Conference accommodation booking has closed. You may be able to book rooms in the on-campus accommodation directly here at a cost of £60/night (room only). (It is student graduation season, so this availability may not last long – timely booking advised.)
Venue for Talks, Breaks and Reception: Maurice Keyworth Building, Moorland Rd, Leeds LS6 1AN
Accommodation is in single en-suite bedrooms in Storm Jameson Court, Mount Preston Street, Leeds LS2 9JP, an 8-minute walk from the conference venue. Breakfast (included in the price) will be in the refectory, a 5-minute walk away from both.
Conference Dinner: Akmal’s Tandoori Bistro, 235 Woodhouse Ln, Woodhouse, Leeds LS2 3AP.
Accessibility
The conference and conference dinner venues are wheelchair-accessible; the conference venue has wheelchair-accessible bathrooms on both the ground and first floors.
The B&B accommodation has accessible bedrooms. These have achieved the highest assessment rating in all categories under the National Accessible Scheme (NAS), making them suitable for guests with particular mobility, visual or hearing needs.
Service animals are welcome in the conference venue.
The conference rooms are equipped with assistive listening devices, which we will ensure are operational if they are required.
The registration form asks you to specify if we need to accommodate any disability requiring any of the above, and also whether you have any other disability we need to accommodate. Childcare
The University’s childcare centre, Bright Beginnings, may be able offer delegates places on their summer playscheme (ages 4-11), at £60 per day per child. If you would like to use this, please contact us before registering for the conference so that we can check that space is available.
